Tap Day
Mizzou has a long history of traditions that are high on pomp and circumstance- Tap Day is one of those. For over 80 years, Mizzou’s secret societies have had a public ceremony to unveil their new members to the public. The ceremony is typically held on the Francis Quadrangle and commences after the Switzler Bells have rung for 2 minutes straight. At this time, all of the initiates will begin their procession from Jesse to the columns to be unveiled. Not only are students recognized for their work at Mizzou, but administrators and even governmental officials are also “tapped” by the groups. This is truly a sight to see and we suggest you join us this year on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2pm on the Quad for the 83rd annual Tap Day.
